e-Drive attends the The 9th International Conference on Power Electronics, Machines and Drives

PEMD was attended by three members of E Drive staff (Nick Baker, Markus Mueller, Steve McDonald) and three PhD students (M. Raihan, A. Almoraya, B Mc Gilton), presenting a total of five papers relating to EDRIVE work. PEMD is the 9th International Conference on Power Electronics, Machines and Drives and was held in Liverpool UK on April 17-19th 2018.  The papers presented were:
1. A high frequency current source converter for a direct drive powertrain in a wave energy converter S.P. McDonald*, N.J. Baker*, V.Pickert
2. A linear consequent pole Halbach array flux reversal machineM. A. H. Raihan, N. J. Baker, K. J. Smith A. A. Almoraya
3. A Flux Concentrated Doubly Salient Linear Permanent Magnet Machine A. A. Almoraya, N. J. Baker, K. J. Smith, M. A. H. Raihan
4. Bearings for direct drive linear generators for wave energy applicationsJ W Burchell, M A Mueller
5. Analysis on the Effect of Back-Iron End Profiles on the Cogging Forces of the Trident Energy Linear Generator Ben McGilton Steve Packard Richard Crozier

This event was highly relevant to the e-Drive project and attendance enabled further discussion with partners and exchange of information.
